Judicial Spotlight: Judge LaRose

Judges fill an integral role on our Executive Council. Meet one of them, Judge LaRose.

I started my law practice in 1980 in D.C. I relocated to Tampa in 1983 and was a shareholder at Trenam Kemker. Governor Jeb Bush appointed me to the Second District Court of Appeal; I started serving in February 2005.

What have you gained from your involvement with the Section?

My many years in the BLS have resulted in making many contacts, engaging in top notch CLE programs, and, most important, forming meaningful friendships with lawyers throughout Florida.

Which Committees/Task Forces have you serve on within the Section?

 Executive Council.

Task Force on Business Courts.

Judicial Chair, Business Litigation Committee.

Legislation Committee.

Task Force on UCRERA.

Special Committee to Review Proposed Revisions to Florida Rules of Professional Conduct.

Special Committee on Intellectual Property Certification.

Antitrust, Franchise & Trade Regulation Committee.

Executive Council Spring Retreat is always a blast. A great opportunity to form new friendships and reconnect with longtime friends.

What is something that will surprise our members to learn about you?

I am an ordained Deacon in the Catholic Church.
