A Business Law Section Task Force has been approved to prepare reform legislation for Chapter 617, Florida’s Corporations Not For Profit statute.
Reform of Chapter 617 has been a longstanding goal of the Corporations, Securities and Financial Services Committee (“CSFS Committee”) and is timely in light of the recent reforms to Chapter 607 (Business Corporation Act) led by the CSFS Committee and the adoption of a new edition of the Model Nonprofit Corporation Act. The Task Force will review and recommend legislative measures. In addition to participants from the CSFS Committee and the Business Law Section, the Task Force will also have participants from the RPPTL, Health Law and Tax sections of the Florida Bar.
