Specializing in securities arbitration, commercial litigation, and receivership work, I have been practicing law in Tampa for 30 years. During that time, I am proud to have led the Florida Bar Business Law Section, the Tampa Bay Chapter of the Federal Bar Association, and the Florida Securities Dealers & Advisors association. As a partner at Johnson Newlon & DeCort, I work with an amazing group of business litigators.
What have you gained from your involvement with the Section?
A vast network of highly skilled and bright attorneys and judges across the state that I am proud to call colleagues and friends.
Which Committees/Task Forces have you serve on within the Section?
I chaired the Business Litigation, Membership, Communications and Legislation Committees before becoming an officer of the Section.
What is your favorite memory from your term as Chair? Time as Judicial Chair?
As previously mentioned by Michael Chesal, the opportunity to plan and host the Executive Council Retreat was a highlight. It was so wonderful to share my love for Ireland with 40+ friends. Another memory was being able to return to in-person meetings after the COVID stretch. We all enjoyed getting back to the Naples Ritz Carlton for the Labor Day Retreat.
What is something that will surprise our members to learn about you?
I’m an avid baseball fan and working on getting to ballparks for all 30 teams – only 8 more to go!
