Melanie E. Damian is a business and securities litigator with extensive experience serving as a court-appointed Receiver, Monitor, and Distribution Agent in federal and state matters. She also advises companies on governance issues and represents corporate officers and directors in litigation and investigations. In addition to her legal work, she is a dedicated advocate for youth and education as co-founder of Educate Tomorrow and founding Chair of the SEED School of Miami.
What have you gained from your involvement with the Section?
Amazing relationships forged over great food and wine all of the world with Florida’s best business lawyers. These relationships have supported both my personal and professional growth and significantly enriched my career and were just plain fun!
Which Committees/Task Forces have you serve on within the Section?
Business Litigation, Retreat, By-law Committee, Communications Chair, Journal editor (when it was in paper), Pro-bono chair, Chair of Legislation.
What is your favorite memory from your term as Chair?
The Executive Council retreat in Cartegena.
What is something that will surprise our members to learn about you? I have my pilots license.
