The mission of the Computer and Technology Law Committee is to educate the Business Law Section and The Florida Bar membership about substantive computer and technology law issues, cases and statutes. The Committee, from time to time, also provides CLEs and practice guides on emerging topics relevant to the Committee’s substantive practice areas.
CLTC AI Policy
The CLTC supports legislation relating to artificial intelligence (AI) in such a manner as to encourage innovation consistent with federal law and other state laws, without tying any statutory definition to a specific implementation of AI technology, that is, respecting the AI learning approach, AI functional behavior, AI architecture and capability, and output type (predictive, generative, and comparative), and balancing economic growth in Florida, local and national industry concerns, and consumer protection for Floridians.
This committee will meet during the Annual Labor Day Retreat on August 30, 2025 at 1 pm in Calusa 8.
