Judge Isicoff is spearheading an effort to design a statewide project to assist and provide our Veterans with financial literacy counseling. The project is inspired and designed after a similar project that was presented during the last National Conference of Bankruptcy Judges’ Annual Meeting at the Veterans’ Village of San Diego, California.
The Veteran’s Financial Literacy Project is currently being put together in collaboration with the Pro Bono Committee and
Financial Literacy Task Force of The Business Law Section of The Florida Bar, Legal Services of Greater Miami, Inc., and Mission United Veterans Pro Bono Project of Legal Aid Service of Broward County, Inc. The Project consists of a 2-hour presentation on a variety of financial and credit educational topics, including credit card use and abuse, credit management, and other financial management issues. The presentation will be followed by a one-on-one counseling session with attorneys and veterans.
