Welcome Back!
Welcome back from the Thanksgiving Holiday, I hope all had a great time with family, friends and loved ones and are coming back to work recharged for the end of the year. Your Executive Committee has been hard at work planning for the coming year and asks your help with a few items.
Committees and Task Forces
Committee and Task Force Chairs, please return your Chair’s Report as soon as you can but no later than the end of the year. The reports should go to Carly. Long Range Planning will use these reports to determine leadership for the future, so don’t wait. And if you would like to be considered for leadership, reach out to your Committee or Task Force Chair and let them know; they are good but they don’t read minds so don’t be shy!
Two more tasks for the Chairs. Reach out to Kathleen DiSanto and schedule your upcoming CLEs and start drafting your Agendas for the Mid-Year Meeting. You should have the dates of your CLEs already picked out by the time you go into the Mid-Year (Winter) Meeting, and having the dates on your meeting agendas will make it that much easier to find speakers. And get those agendas done so that your committee members can prepare in advance of the meeting! Kathleen and her committee have been killing it on CLE, let’s keep up the momentum and finish the year strong!
Spring Retreat News
Good news, we should have registration open for the Spring Retreat this week. And what a coincidence, what a great present a Winter vacation in Montreal and Quebec City would make for yourself and your loved ones! Kidding aside, it is shaping up to be a great trip and kudos to Carly and Jim Moon for their hard work. If you have requests or thoughts; don’t hesitate to send them an email with what you would like to see or do in both cities.
Winter Meetings
Business Law Section committees will meet on January 23 and 24, 2025 at the Rosen Shingle Creek in Orlando. While the schedule is still pending, the hotel block is open. Reserve your room here.
Pro Bono Needs You (And You Need Pro Bono)
And finally but certainly not last, nominations for the Pro Bono Award are open but close on January 31, 2025. We are extraordinarily fortunate to be able to do what we do and that there are others who are not as fortunate; nominate a deserving person for the Pro Bono Award and really make their day. Remember, we are judged not by what we’ve done but by what we’ve done for others.
Have a great week!
