2025 Pro Bono Award

It’s time to celebrate one of our own.

The Section prizes itself on many things, but is most proud of its members who give back to the practice of law, the Section, and the community. And high among the list of give back to the community are those in the Section that give pro bono. And it’s time to celebrate this year’s winner of the Section Pro Bono Award, Carlos Sardi, who will receive his award during the Judicial Liaison Dinner at the Annual Meeting.

The Pro Bono Committee had little trouble picking Carlos as the winner. As Judge Isicoff said:

Carlos Sardi has demonstrated an unwavering commitment to pro bono since he became a lawyer. As Karen Ladis of Dade Legal Aid wrote in her letter of support, “When asked why he accepts so many pro bono cases [Carlos] responded ‘I get more pleasure out of working pro bono for a client than any other paying client in my practice.’” Carlos has worked tirelessly with veterans, including helping to organize lectures at the VA and spearheading the Veterans’ Financial Literacy Project in Florida with Judge Isicoff. Carlos serves regularly as a mentor to students in the Miami Law Eleanor R. Cristol and Judge A. Jay Cristol Bankruptcy Pro Bono Assistance Clinic, lauded by students as an “exemplary mentor and supervisor.” Carlos has touched the lives of many with his passion, and inspired all of us to do the best we can to help those who cannot afford legal assistance.

Well done Carlos!
