In keeping with the tradition established at last year’s Retreat of the Section participating in a Service Project, this year the Business Law Section is working with Laces of Love. This very worthwhile organization provides new shoes to low-income and disadvantaged children and educates the public about the needs of these children. Since its incorporation in 2005, Laces of Love has provided over 200,000 kids in need with new shoes in Southwest Florida.
If you would like to participate, please purchase at least one pair of children’s sneakers and bring them with you to the Retreat. There will be a collection box at the Retreat Check In Desk. Laces of Love provides only NEW shoes to children, and, for many children, this is the first pair of new shoes that the child has ever had. All shoe sizes are needed because Laces of Love distributes to children from toddler through high school seniors. However, sneakers in adult size 1-11 (boys and girls) are especially needed. In lieu of a pair of sneakers there will be an opportunity to make a cash donation to Laces of Love.
Please also join us on Sunday, September 3, 2023, at 10:00 a.m. to help write messages that will be attached to the shoes being donated.

Attendees are still encouraged to attend the service project on the day of the event. The shoes will be ready for pick up at that time.
Section members that are not attending this year’s retreat, but still want to participate in the service project, can have your donated shoes shipped directly to Laces of Love. If possible, please reference that you are a member of the Business Law Section of the Florida Bar.
