Did you have a mentor or leader that encouraged you to get more
involved or otherwise motivated you to stay involved in BLS?
The first person that comes to mind is Michelle Suarez, she was the first person that pushed me to get into leadership. She set an example for me and other fellows and always made me feel like I “belonged.”
Have you assisted with BLS legislation or a task force? What was your experience?
Definitely, when the bill we worked on in the Chapter 48 Task Force became law in 2023. I served as secretary of the task force while we were working on the bill. It was so exciting seeing our bill become law, and it just made me feel so proud of the work we did, and so lucky to have worked with such great attorneys.
