1. What is the name of your firm? Nelson Mullins Riley and Scarborough
2. What services does your firm provide? Nelson Mullins is a full service firm offering legal services for litigation, transactions, intellectual property, and immigration.
3. What is your name? Jackson Hwu
4. What is your position/role in the firm? I am an equity partner in the Venture Capital and Transaction team in the Miami office of Nelson Mullins. I also lead the firm’s Latin America practice.
5. What do you see as the greatest economic challenge in your industry right now? Finding a fit between a buyer and a seller. There are funds to be deployed, however funds are prioritizing the fit and protective rights more than they did in the last two years which slows the rate of investment and means some funds won’t be deployed.
6. What are the top 3 things that you would want the BLS membership to know about working with your firm? We consider ourselves part of our clients’ team, we will strive to leverage our network to benefit our clients when possible, we will match our clients’ needs.
7. Is there anything else that you would like to add? Though Nelson Mullins does not have international offices, we have significant international experience, have attorneys that speak a variety of languages, and work with partner firms globally.
