What was your drive to apply for the BLS Fellowship?
I wanted to learn about the Business Law Section, particularly the legislative process in enacting corporate statutes.
Did you have a mentor or leader that encouraged you to get more
involved or otherwise motivated you to stay involved in BLS?
Yes, Judge Mora encouraged me to apply for the BLS Fellowship and Chair Mark Stein encouraged me to stay involved.
What was the most beneficial about your time as a Fellow?
I got the opportunity to be part of the process of revising the Florida LLC Statute and the Florida Corporation Act. This significantly improved my standing with colleagues at my firm and also with clients. Because I am a corporate attorney, I refer to the Florida LLC Statute and the Florida Corporation Act multiple times during the day. Therefore, being a Fellow improved my substantive areas of the corporate statutes and directly led to my success at my firm.
